Week 8 – Ashcroft: Green Imperialism; Grove

If I have read Green correctly (which is questionable), it seems as though he sees an environmental or conservative ethic deriving from European colonists interaction with the indigenous peoples.  The insights of how the euro-economy was affecting the environment of the colonized lands helped shape the policies and practices around conservation.  Interesting.  One of the few times when the colonies actually seem to recognize and work on behalf of the local peoples. . . .
