Week 4 – Theology. . . Culture: Cobb; Chp. 4

In thinking about how we as a people of Jesus would engage with culture, it seems that as a community in both the macro and micro/local communities we need to be having these conversations.  Where is the culture, again both macro and micro, expressing core/foundational issues of faith, or their narratives that point to YWHW?  What can we do as part of the body of Christ to be sensitive to those stories and expressions?  The Christendom model rarely takes into account the culture around them, yet the programmatic nature and attractional bentness of the system might benefit greatly if these expressions could be identified.  I’m looking forward to the conversations around the application of these tools, and what that looks like after the theory is understood.
